347 Balls.

If you wondered why the gap in time since my last blog post, rest assured I haven’t forgotten about you, and no, you did not overlook something in your inbox.

Truth be told, I took a little break from writing these weekly emails over the summer.

You all know that my number one tool in the chest when it comes to our health and well-being is Self Care. As a person who is very comfortable taking action and “doing” a lot, I found myself finding it harder and harder to balance doing all the delicious things that life offers me.

Back in May or so, I was starting to feel more stressed with the weight of all I was trying to do in the limited hours of a day, and days in a week.

Add to that the heaviness of the state of the world right now, and it all just felt like too much. I knew that I had to re-prioritize.

Intuitively I knew that full dedication to my health must be paramount if I wanted to continue to be present with my clients, and have quality of life in all aspects of my life.

While I’ve got a pretty healthy lifestyle, including daily meditation, clean diet, regular exercise, consistent sleep, being out in nature, and talking to a support person; I realized that the energy it was taking for me to keep all of my 347 balls in the air was tipping my emotional, physical, and spiritual reserves over the edge.

So, I tuned in and asked for guidance in my meditations: “Show me what I need to know to take the best care of myself, and relieve my overwhelm.”

Very shortly, the messages started coming. I tuned into my intuition and moved in the direction that felt right.

I found an acupuncturist and got almost instant relief from the headaches I was experiencing. And after doing some simple testing, found out that my adrenal glands (the glands responsible for producing the hormones that regulate your metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, and response to stress) were operating on overload.

No s**t, Sherlock! ;-)

I learned that the energy it was taking for all of my juggling, regardless of how much I was enjoying these things, was depleting my body’s resources.

All the symptoms I was having were simply messages from my body letting me know I needed to slow down; juggling 347 balls at once is not sustainable.

From my adrenal system’s perspective, it’s been like I’ve been running from a tiger non-stop for over a year and a half. I know you all know what I mean!

So although I have loved writing my emails to you every week, I knew that this needed to be one of the balls to stop juggling while I focused on getting my system back on track.

Along with fine tuning some of the tools I was already using, and adding a few new ones tailored to my newly “diagnosed” physical situation, I am feeling so much better, so much less stressed, despite how the world keeps challenging us.

I will continue to pay attention to how many balls feel right and healthy for me to keep in the air at one time, knowing that I may have to put a few of them down periodically to let my body do what it is programmed to do: regulate and heal.

So, while Monday’s Conscious Inspirations are back, they will be less frequent. I hope you will continue to use them when they show up in your inbox to support your own journey of health and wellness.
